Sitter / Walker Work Conditions

Weather can be a safety issue not only for a sitter / walker, but for your pet as well. We will do visits during bad weather, (rain, snow, excessive heat) typically if we cannot “walk” your pet due to nasty conditions, but drivable, we still will show up to give them a quick potty break out in the yard and some exercise / play outside of kennel / enclosure,  inside the house with your permission.  We will contact you if for whatever reason we cannot make it to a visit due to weather, such as blizzard / icy conditions, as soon as we are aware the weather is unsafe to drive in.  For vacation visits, these are the ONLY exception, where if the pet is alone in the home for more than 24hrs, we will make one, 1hr. visit every 24hrs. To give a potty break, feed, and play time once daily until the weather / roads clear.  Sitters also CANNOT shovel walk way / drive way.  This is not part of our work description and our insurance will not cover any injury’s that may be sustained in clearing snow from a walk way / drive way. Please make arrangements to have an area cleared for your pet and our sitters to have a safe visit, if you are away.

We will NOT walk during…

  • Thunder / lighting storm

  • Icy conditions / ice on walk ways / overhead power lines / branches

  • Excessive wind

  • Excessive heat, above 90â—¦F

  • Excessive cold, below 0â—¦F

    • Coats and booties preferred in extreme cold for dogs on walks (Salt and Ice can cause serious damage to our furry friends paws)

We will cancel walks on our end only during unsafe driving conditions such as…

  • Blizzard / snow making roads impassable

  • Ice storms / icy roads / ice on over road power lines / ice on over road branches

  • Excessive rain /flooding on roads

And again, we will do our best to make at least ONE visit every 24 hrs. for any pet that is alone for more than 24 hrs. During unsafe driving conditions, JUST AS SOON AS THE ROADS ARE PASSABLE! WE CAN AND DO GET SNOWED IN, Please keep this in mind when scheduling vacation visits.
